I am a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoc Fellow at the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab (CSAIL) & the Center for Brains, Minds and Machines (CBMM) of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Here, I work on developing neurally plausible computational models of visual attention. These models aim at predicting the human behavior, based on gaze data, during tasks related to the perception of social interactions, focusing on both typical developing children and children with visual and cognitive disorders. The ultimate goal of my research is the design and development of artificial intelligence applications targeting people with different types of sensory and/or cognitive impairments, to enhance, rather than replacing, their autonomous access to environmental information, with specific regards to the development of fundamental functional skills, such as social competencies.
